This beautiful, 100 million year old fossil is wrapped in natural brass wire.  

Ammonite is one of the rarest and most valuable "gemstones" on Earth. It is a fossilized Cephalopod that existed over 100 million years ago, and this particular variety is only found in the Alberta, Canada region. Canadian Ammonite is highly sought after by jewelers because of the striking flashes of color that appear in very bright light. The color flash is due to the manner in which the shell fossilized, absorbing natural minerals as it aged.
