This piece is a member of my popular Bird Shack series. Crafted from wood collected from the beach and accented with various tones of green acrylic, this bird demands attention. The roof is created from scraps of an old Virginia license plate and highlighted with broken wire, nails and washers. The bird, which is the focal point of the piece is made from cardboard, paper collage and found objects. The red peonies made from old washers and coat hanger bits gives this piece some whimsy as they grow out of the rusted screen. Allowing this piece some height are three rusted, yet handsome industrial sized screws. The white picket fence made out of popsicle sticks is a throw back to wonderful old neighborhoods. This piece is truly unique from its license plate roof to its sweet peonies. Perfect for displaying on a shelf or accenting a wall.
