Elizabeth Stevens is a graduate of the College of Charleston. She majored in Biology and minored in studio art. Growing up in the Charleston area, she has always had a fascination with marine life. She and her father used to collect horseshoe crab shells at the beach. They painted a few together, using the shells as a natural canvas. After he passed away from pancreatic cancer, she continued to paint and find new and challenging projects as a way to stay connected. He lives on through her art and each piece is a part of the artist's heart.
All of the proceeds raised from the sell of her art go towards a scholarship she created for a local child attending school at a high-risk, low income area. Proceeds will allow this child be tutored by an expert reading teacher so he can learn how to read and feel confident in school again.
